What is myofunctional therapy?
Myofunctional therapy is a series of targeted exercises that restore proper oral rest posture, improve nasal breathing, and support efficient chewing, swallowing, and speech. Think of it as physical therapy for the muscles of the face, tongue, and jaw.
Signs that therapy may help:
Mouth breathing or snoring
Open‑mouth posture or dry lips
Low or forward tongue posture
Tongue thrust or messy chewing
Picky eating or fatigue with chewing
Teeth clenching, grinding, or jaw tension
Orthodontic relapse or crowding
Headaches on waking or daytime sleepiness
Breathing is the bridge between our conscious and unconscious, guiding us from stress to calm. When we breathe deeply and intentionally, we activate the body’s rest and digest mode, fostering healing and restoration from within.
